Response: Generally, if a Defendant does not pay a fine owing to the Court, their licence will be suspended for non-payment of fine. Driving on a suspended licence, can lead to very severe penalties including a total fine of up to $6,250.00, a further mandatory 6 month suspension of licence, and jail time. If you are at all in doubt of the status of your licence, it would be prudent to contact the Ministry Of Transportation.
