Is defending tickets just based on technicalities?
Post: Subject Other driving charge
Name Sue
Inquiry My son got a ticket for unsafe lane change, and the wrong address of the
incident was put on ticket. We are disputing the ticket, what are our
chances??
Response:
Hello Sue,
It is common for people to think that defending charges is based on finding some minor technicality which will automatically win the day – this is unfortunately not true. The address error goes only to the quality of the Officer’s note taking, unless he put the wrong jurisdiction entirely, which could provide a defense.
Unsafe Lane change charges are often defendable on the facts, but we would need to know your son’s version of events. Please contact the office at 1-866-801-8299 and we would be pleased to provide him with a free consultation.
Best Regards,
Kevin
