Hi Ralph,
I generally advise people to fight every ticket – but you may not have much to go on here…
The ‘error in length’ is unfortunately not an automatic defense. While it does go to the quality of the Officer’s evidence, that would be more relevant in cases where his observations are subjective – the complete absence of straps is not such a situation.
Having said that, we will certainly take a shot at it for you if you would like to have us go to court for you.
Best Regards,

Inquiry Hi,
I received a $160 ticket for insecure load for having no back straps
between the boat and the trailer. The officer wrote “32 ft Boat” on the
side of the ticket. My boat’s length is almost half of that at 17
ft.
Should I fight the ticket on this ground?
Thanks
