Inquiry:  I recently went to re-write a G1 written test to find out i have a suspended G1 licence that expired 8 months after getting the ticket on my way to work in a taxi, pulled over in a ride program and told I’m getting a ticket for not wearing my seatbelt..anywho, long story short: was going to fight it b/c my address and subsection of the HTA was incorrect…life got in the way, I tucked it away. I just wanted to know what the interest rates are or wld be on $110 from the date of 07/04/20.  cld I have fought this and if I still have to pay the reinstatement fee on a licence I “technically” don’t have cause it’s expired 07′

Response:  There are some unclear elements in your inquiry.  If a ticket is not responded to, it will eventually go to a non-response conviction at court.  If the fine is not paid by the due date set by the court, the defendant’s driver’s licence will be placed into suspension for non-payment of fine.  Fines owing to the court do not go away, but will generally increase the longer they are left unpaid.  Driving on a suspended licence carries severe penalties including a total payable fine up to a maximum of $6,250.00, a mandatory 6 month further suspension of licence, and possible imprisonment.  If you have an active case before the court, we would be happy to assist you in defending your interests and may be reached via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
