Inquiry:  Is there a statue of limitations on when an MTO officer can issue a no insurance ticket? Its been since April 2014. I have paid my ticket. He gave me 24hrs to produce insurance that l thought was being maintained by my ex-wife. But apparently she has taken me off insurance for the last 5 yrs.

Response:  A charge of OPERATE M/V – NO INSURANCE may be issued up to 3 years from the date of offence.  The minimum total-payable fine (fine plus victim fine surcharge) is $6,250.00 and can go much higher.  If you have been charged with this offence, you may strongly wish to retain legal representation to guard your interests.  We offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
