Inquiry: RECENTLY I RECIEVED A CALL FROM THE ONTARIO COURTS SAYING I HAVE OUTSTANDING FINES FROM ABOUT 20 YEARS AGO TOTALING ABOUT $2500.00.I HAD MANY TICKETS WHEN I WAS YOUNGER BUT PAID ALL MY FINES AS FAR AS I KNOW AND HAVE HAD A GREAT DRIVING RECORD AND CLEAN INS.FOR ALLMOST 10 YEARS.IS THEIR ANY WAY I CAN FIGHT THESE OUTSTANDING FINES THEY SAY I HAVE AS I HAVE NO PROOF THAT I PAID THEM.
Response: Unfortunately we are not involved in the payment of fines due to the court and given the age of the convictions there is likely little that we could do at this point in appealing them. Likely your best course of action will be to gather more information from the MTO and court about where the fines originate from in understanding whether or not they are valid. After that you can inquire about any options open to you in addressing the fines.
