Inquiry: Hi before my daughter was diagnosed and put on medication she drove without insurance and an expired license ( a few times ) and incurred about $30,000 in fines is it possible to get them reduced or expunged as she will never be able to pay them.
Response: Unfortunately, the time for dealing with fines is when the matters are originally before the Court. I am unaware of any recourse beyond that. You may however wish to speak to a local court clerk to clarify your options. If her fines have become overdue, it is also likely that her licence is currently suspended for the unpaid fines. If her fines are not overdue, she may be able to apply to the court for an extension of time to pay the fines to avoid licence suspension.
