Inquiry: Hi, I recently moved from Quebec. In QC 2 1/2 years ago I got a ticket for Excessive Speed 125 in a 70 zone. I am taking the ticket to court because at the time the ticket was issued the office was writing up my friend for speeding. My friend said the officer never got me on lazer. The ticket is 10 points. If I loose in court the points double. I moved to a non-Ontario province and switched my license over.
If I loose in court will the 20 point ticket show up on my new licence ? On the SAAQ QC website they say they communicate with New York, Maine and Ontario for demerit points. If it doesn’t show up on my new license I’ll spare the 1000$ plane ticket and just pay the fine.
Response: Unfortunately, you are outside of our area of service. You will need to contact a local legal representative to get assistance with your matter.
Sincerely,
Greg Currie
