Inquiry:  I was charged with fail to surrender insurance card, but did not have  insurance at the time. If I plead guilty to the fail to surrender charge,  will they somehow find out I was driving with no insurance and give me a bigger fine?

Response:   We can not advise you on what the police are doing in regards to investigating the status of your insurance.  It is possible that a second charge of OPERATE M/V – NO INSURANCE could be issued regardless of what happens with your current charge.   If you would like to speak to one of our staff about contesting the current charge or dealing with a further charge of not having insurance if it is issued, we offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
