Response: From what you have described of your husband’s charges, he is facing some very severe penalties at court. A first-time offence for DRIVE UNDER SUSPENSION carries a total-payable fine of between $1,250 to $6,250 with a mandatory 6 month suspension of licence and imprisonment for up to six months; a first-time offence for OPERATE M/V NO INSURANCE carries a total-payable fine between $6,250 to $31,250 with up to a one year suspension of licence. Given the serious penalties faced at court by your husband, he may wish to retain legal representation to work on his behalf in reducing the charges and penalties. We offer a no-cost initial review of charges via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
