Inquiry:   My daughter received a careless driving ticket about 10 days ago; one thing we noticed was her date of birth on the ticket is incorrect. Is this grounds to have the ticket dismissed? It had been a rainy morning and her brakes locked when she tried to stop and she slid into the car in front of her.

Response:  The date of birth error would almost certainly not be a grounds to have the charge dismissed.   However, we can generally at least have a Careless Driving charge reduced to a lesser offence and in some cases are able to have the charge eliminated completely.  I would recommend speaking to one of our staff directly about the details of the case for more specific feedback.  We offer a no-cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
