Inquiry: I was charged with careless driving, my address was spelt wrong and officer didn’t put a section code in the code box. Should I fight it alone or with a lawer and what are the chances of it being dropped?
Response: The code box should not contain any data for a Careless Driving charge and the address issue will not have any impact on the case. A charge of Careless Driving is one of the most serious charges that can be issued under the Highway Traffic Act and should be defended vigorously at Court. If you would like to discuss your case with one of our staff, we can almost always have Careless Driving charges reduced to lesser offences or have them eliminated outright. We offer a no cost initial review of cases via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
