Inquiry: my mother was driving on a side street in toront and hit black ice and slid into a driveway hitting the car in the driveway which then got pushed into the car ahead of it in the same driveway. Her car needed to be towed and the police were called. the police officer did not question my mum at all just the lady of the house who was quite belligerent towards my 73 y/o mother. she has been charged with careless driving – any thoughts?
Response: Most careless driving charges can at least be reduced to a lesser offence, and in some case may be eliminated completely. The charge is a very serious offence carrying a total of 6 demerit points upon conviction. I would recommend discussing the specific details of your case with one of our staff via our toll-free number 1-866-801-8299.
